Care & Maintenance Guide
Treated well, quality kitchen tools last for years. Follow these simple steps to keep your VELOZEST cookware, knives, and appliances performing at their best.
Knives & Cutlery
- Hand-wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry immediately — do not leave knives soaking.
- Avoid the dishwasher; harsh detergents and heat dull the edge and damage handles.
- Use a wooden or plastic cutting board, never glass or stone, to protect the blade.
- Hone regularly with a steel and sharpen a few times a year to maintain a clean edge.
- Store in a knife block, on a magnetic strip, or with blade guards — never loose in a drawer.
Stainless Steel Cookware
- Let pans cool before washing to avoid warping from sudden temperature changes.
- For stuck-on food, soak in warm soapy water, then clean with a non-abrasive sponge.
- Remove water spots and discoloration with a little white vinegar or a stainless cleaner.
- Most stainless pieces are dishwasher-safe, but hand-washing preserves the finish longer.
Non-Stick Cookware
- Use wooden, silicone, or nylon utensils only — metal scratches the coating.
- Cook on low to medium heat; high heat shortens the life of the non-stick surface.
- Wash by hand with a soft sponge and avoid abrasive scrubbers or steel wool.
- Never use cooking sprays, which can leave a residue that builds up over time.
Cast Iron
- Rinse with hot water and scrub with a stiff brush — avoid soap where possible.
- Dry thoroughly right away and apply a thin layer of cooking oil to season and prevent rust.
- If rust appears, scour it off, wash, dry, and re-season the surface.
- Store in a dry place with a paper towel inside to absorb any moisture.
Small Appliances
- Always unplug before cleaning and let the appliance cool completely.
- Wipe motor bases and housings with a damp cloth — never submerge electrical parts in water.
- Wash removable bowls, blades, and attachments by hand unless the manual marks them dishwasher-safe.
- Dry all parts fully before reassembling and storing to prevent odors and corrosion.
Wood & Bamboo
- Hand-wash boards and utensils and dry standing up — never soak or put in the dishwasher.
- Condition occasionally with food-grade mineral oil to prevent cracking and drying.
- Sanitize with a wipe of diluted vinegar after preparing raw meat or fish.
